Marrauci is a company that makes wooden bats for the MLB. Marruci makes maple bats and they also make ash bats. Marruci sponsors some of the best baseball players today like Jose Bautista, Andrew McCutchen, and many more. Marruci uses selective cutting because they need to get the exact size, wieght, type, and location in the tree. As I said before Marucci only uses the best wood even it there is a little mark that bat wont make it to a major leauge field, it actually wont make it to any field the bats that marruci dosent use that arent good enough goes into a storge place. There are thousands of $100 bats there, it is a complete waste of wood and it is the most expensive.

Examples Of Selective Cutting

Selective Cutting is used for many, many things. Pretty much anything in your house is made from selective cutting, your table, your door (if made out of wood), furniture, framing and many more. Most lumber is made from selective cutting because you see lumber lables that say "ceader 2x4" or "maple 2x4" ect.

selective cutting costs the most because you have to pay people to find out if the tree out want is the right type, where as in clear cutting you just take out all the trees in sight and most of them are used, in selective cutting all the wood collected is used.

This method consists of harvesting only mature trees of the desired size, type, or quality. This method is the least disruptive to the forest enviroment it is used in forests with tree species that need shade to become established. This method is the most costly. Pretty much all forests are effected by selective cutting.
